Argyle, TX - Two seniors and one sophomore led the way respectively for their teams at TAPPS 1-6A district track and field championships. Overall both the boys and girls team placed third overall. The host Warriors of Liberty Christian won the boys championship while Midland Christian won the girls title.
For the boys, senior sprinter and jumper Tre Parks-Vinson had himself a day on the track as well in the jumps. He won both the 100M and 200M dashes and finished second and fourth in the long jump and triple jump.
Jackman once again dominated the field in the middle distance events. Jackman won the 800M run in 2:01.94 setting a new PR. He also won the 1600M race, edging out junior teammate Brian Larson who came in second. Larson also finished third in the 800M as well as the pole vault.
Sophomore Alex Aleman won the 3200M, running under twelve minutes.
Senior Jackson Reed finished second in the 110M hurdles, triple jump and placed third in the long jump.
The girls were led by senior sprinter Da’Sha Davis. She won the 100M dash, ran second in the 200M dash and placed third in the triple jump.
Senior hurdler Emily Grimes finished second in the 100M hurdles and third in the 300M hurdles.
Sophomore Hampton Hohenberger set a PR in the 400M dash, finishing third.
Both teams will now head back to practice to prepare for regional competition next Thursday. The TAPPS regional championships will be held on the campus at the University of Texas-Arlington. Field events will begin at 8:45 am, while the finals for all running events will start at 2:30 pm.
