Grace Prep runs away from the Vikings, 62-43

Fort Worth, TX - In a back-and- forth battle between two of the better teams in TAPPS, the Lions from Grace Prep went on a 10-2 run late in the third quarter to build an eight point lead and ran away from the Vikings (1-3) to win 62-43.

Leading 35-33 midway through the third quarter, the Vikings would go scoreless over the next four minutes as the Lions began to get traction in transition. Two transition three pointers by the Lions would get the scoring started as the Vikings were never able to catch the Lions.

The Vikings were outscored 34-14 over the final 16 minutes of action.

“We have to be able to score the ball, especially around the basket and in the paint. But this loss is on me, I have to do a better job of helping our guys on both ends of the floor. Give credit to Grace Prep as well, they were the more physical team. They punched us and we didn't punch back which is disappointing,” head coach Dylan Dudley said.

Senior guard Michael Jones led the Vikings in scoring with 17 points.

The Vikings return to action at Hartnett Arena Thursday night for a matchup with Dallas Christian.
